Mr. Vu Quoc Tri,

Chief of Office, VNAT

Mr. Vu Quoc Tri is the proactive, focused professional tourism official with twenty five years experience working for the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism. At present, Mr. Tri works as the Chief of Office. Prior to this, in five years he worked as the Director of Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism capacity development Programme funded by the European Union . The overall objective of the Programme is To mainstream responsible tourism principles into Vietnam’s tourism sector to enhance competitiveness and contributing to achieving the Socio-Economic Development Plan. Before that, he was also the Co-Diector of the first five years Project funded by the European Union , namely the Human Resources Development in Tourism Project. T he project was in the field of tourism training, tourism skill standards and human resources development in tourism.

Since 1993, Mr.Tri has been appointed in different management position within VNAT, as the Deputy director, Hotel Department; Deputy director, Institute for Tourism Development Research; Deputy director, International Cooperation Department.

He has started his carrier as the teacher of the Economics of Tourism Faculty in Hanoi National Economic University. His job at this period was to participate in designing the tourism curriculum of some subjects for teaching; To teach Economics of tourism, Marketing of tourism, Hotel management, Travel management, Procedure of tourist serving; To assist the students in practical training; To be involved in the Assessment committee on final examination for students.

Mr. Vu Quoc Tri graduated from the National Economic University in Varna, Bulgaria.in economics of tourism; Diploma on Klessheim Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, Salzburg, Austria; Master in Public Management and Economics taught by professors of the Universite’ Libre de Bruxelles at the National Economics University, Hanoi.
